आइए जानते हैं क्या होते हैं स्मार्त और वैष्णव??(Hindi & English)

प्रायः आप लोगों ने पंचांग, कैलेंडरों आदि में किसी पर्व(त्योहार) के व्रत, पूजन, आदि के सम्बंध में दो तिथियां देखी होंगी। एक वैष्णव लोगों के लिए, दूसरी तिथि स्मार्त लोगों के लिए। तो आइए, जानते हैं, कौन हैं ये वैष्णव और स्मार्त ?

स्मार्त

वेद, पुराण, श्रुति- स्मृति, को मानने वाले चारों वर्ण (ब्राह्मण, क्षत्रिय, वैश्य, शूद्र), गायत्री और पंच देवों, देवियों, देवताओं को मानने वाले ये सभी आस्तिक लोग स्मार्त कहलाते हैं। साधारण शब्दो मे कहा जाए तो आम सनातनी हिन्दू जनता जो अपनी गृहस्थी में रहते हुए ही अपने धर्म का पालन करती जो। इन लोगों को स्मार्तीय तिथियों में ही व्रत, उपवास, दान, यम, नियम करना चाहिए।

वैष्णव

वे धर्मपरायण लोग, जिन्होंने किसी प्रतिष्ठित वैष्णव सम्प्रदाय के गुरु से दीक्षा ग्रहण की हो, गले में श्री गुरुदेव द्वारा दी गई कंठी धारण की हो, तथा मस्तक एवं गले पर श्रीखंड चंदन या गोपी चंदन के तिलक, त्रिपुंड आदि के चिन्ह धारण करते हों, बिना लहसुन प्याज़ के शुद्ध शाकाहारी भोजन करते हों, ऐसे भक्त जन वैष्णव कहलाते हैं।

वैष्णव जन के पर्व त्योहार की तिथि, स्मार्त जन के एक दिन बाद पड़ती है।

हमारे ग्रंथो में तिथि, मुहूर्त अनुसार ही व्रत, पूजन, उपवास, दान आदि का महत्व है। अतः दी गयी स्मार्त और वैष्णव तिथि अनुसार ही उपवास त्योंहार आदि करें तभी सुफल प्राप्त होगा।

Let’s know what are Smarta and Vaishnava?(Hindi & English)

Usually you must have seen two dates in Panchang, calendars etc. related to fasting, worship etc. of any festival. One date is for Vaishnava people, the other date is for Smarta people. So let’s know, who are these Vaishnava and Smarta?

Smarta

All the four Varnas (Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Shudra) who believe in Vedas, Puranas, Shruti-Smriti, all the believers who believe in Gayatri and Panch Devas, Goddesses, Gods are called Smarta. In simple words, the common Sanatani Hindu people who follow their religion while living in their household. These people should observe fasts, upvaas, daan, yama, niyam only on Smarta dates.

Vaishnav

Those religious people who have taken initiation from a Guru of a reputed Vaishnav Sect, wear the Kanthi given by Shri Gurudev around their neck, and wear the marks of Tilak, Tripund etc. of Shrikhand Chandan or Gopi Chandan on their forehead and neck, eat pure vegetarian food without garlic and onion, such devotees are called Vaishnavs.

The date of festivals of Vaishnav people falls one day after Smart people.

In our scriptures, fasting, worship, fasting, donation etc. are important according to the date and auspicious time. Therefore, observe fasts, festivals etc. according to the given Smart and Vaishnav dates. Only then will you get good results.
