भगवान शनिदेव का भारतीय सनातनी ज्योतिष शास्त्र में बहुत ही विशिष्ट महत्व माना जाता है। शनिदेव को उनके इष्ट एवम गुरुदेव भगवान श्री सांब सदाशिव ने न्याय की पदवी पर विराजमान कराया है, इसलिए ही शनिदेव को उत्तम न्याय का देवता माना जाता है। न्यायधीश भगवान शनिदेव इस मृत्युलोक के सभी जातकों को उनके कर्मों के आधार पर शुभ/अशुभ फल प्रदान करते हैं। भगवान शनिदेव को जो दंडाधिकारी का पद प्राप्त है उसके चलते सभी के हृदय में शनिदेव के प्रति एक भय भी बना रहता है और महादेव की आज्ञा अनुसार शनिदेव अपने इस उत्तम धर्म की पालना हेतु कभी भी पीछे नहीं हटते हैं।
भगवान शनिदेव केवल कर्मों के अनुसार ही जातक के जीवन को उठाने हेतु न्याय करने के उपरांत उत्तम फल प्रदान करते हैं। इसलिए बुरे कर्म करने वालों को बुरा फल और अच्छे कर्म करने वालों को अच्छा फल सदा से मिलता आया है और आगे भी मिलता ही रहेगा। ऐसी स्पष्ट मान्यता है कि शनिदेव की सीधी क्रूर द्दष्टि अगर किसी पर पड़ जाए तो जातक के जीवन में संघर्ष के रूप में कई तरह के कष्ट एवम परेशानियां आना शुरू हो जाती हैं।
वहीं दूसरी तरफ अगर भगवान शनिदेव की सीधी शुभ दृष्टि अगर किसी जातक पर पड़ जाए तो जातक का रंक से राजा बनना अटल हो जाता है। प्रायः भगवान शनिदेव के स्वाभाविक गोचरीय वयवस्था अनुसार चलायमान शनि की साढ़ेसाती और शनि की ढैय्या से लगभग सभी जातक बहुत ही परेशान होकर अपने-अपने जीवन में संघर्षों को अनुभव करते हैं।

01. शनि का छाया-पात्र का दान क्या होता है?
शनि ग्रह की अतिरिक्त ऊर्जा जब प्रारब्ध के आधार पर या सामान्य साढ़ेसती के आधार पर या जन्म कुंडली में शनिदेव के विराजने के आधार पर जब अधिक बढ़ जाती है तब शनिदेव के प्रभाव को कम करने के लिए, उनसे क्षमा मांगने के लिए काले तिल, सरसों का तेल और लौह पात्र का दान किया जाता है उसे ही शनि का छाया-पात्र का दान कहते हैं।
02. शनि का छाया-पात्र का दान कैसे और किस दिन किया जाता है?
किसी भी गुरुवार/शनिवार को एक लौह पात्र में थोड़े काले तिल डालकर, सरसों का तेल डालकर पीपल के वृक्ष के नीचे खड़े होकर पात्र में अपना प्रतिबिंब देखने के पश्चात केवल शनिदेव के मंदिर में ही पात्र समेत दान दिया जाना चाहिए।
03. शनि का छाया-पात्र का दान किसको देना चाहिए?
शनिदेव के छाया पात्र का दान या शनिग्रह से संबंधित कोई भी दान केवल शनिदेव के मंदिर में ही दिया जाना चाहिए।
04. शनि का छाया-पात्र का दान किन जातकों को करना चाहिए?
1a. जिनको भी संतान से कष्ट हो, संतान न हो, मुकदमे चल रहे हो, पैरों में अधिक दर्द रहता हो या रीढ़ की हड्डी प्रभावित रहती हो या उनकी जन्म राशि पर साढ़ेसती चल रही हो। उन्हें छाया पात्र का दान 11 गुरुवार/शनिवार अवश्य करना चाहिए।
2b. जिनकी लग्न कुंडली में शनिदेव अगर 1,2,5,7,9 भाव में विराजे हुए हों तो जब आपकी जन्म राशि पर साढ़ेसती आयेगी तो ऐसे जातकों को उस दौरान प्रत्येक वर्ष 11 गुरुवार/शनिवार लगातार छाया पात्र का दान अवश्य करना चाहिए।

01. What is the donation of Shani’s Chhaya Patra?
When the excess energy of Saturn increases on the basis of destiny or general sadhesati or presence of Shanidev in the birth chart, then to reduce the effect of Shanidev, to ask forgiveness from him, donation of black sesame seeds, mustard oil and iron vessel is done, this is called donation of Shani’s Chhaya-patra.
02. How and on which day is the donation of Shani’s Chhaya-patra done?
On any Thursday / Saturday, put some black sesame seeds, mustard oil in an iron vessel, stand under a peepal tree and see your reflection in the vessel, after which the donation should be done along with the vessel only in Shanidev’s temple.
03. To whom should Shani’s Chhaya-patra be donated?
