आजकल सोशल मीडिया और पत्र-पत्रिकाओं में कालसर्प दोष या योग की बहुत चर्चा है। अनेक ज्योतिषियों द्वारा इस योग की चर्चा करते और इसके विभिन्न उपायों को बताते देखा-सुना जा रहा है। आइए हम जानते हैं कि कालसर्प दोष की मूलभूत जानकारी क्या है?
क्या है कुंडली में कालसर्प दोष का अर्थ?
कालसर्प दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना है, काल और सर्प। काल अर्थात राहु और सर्प अर्थात केतु।
हमारे ग्रन्थों में कहा जाता है कि-
“राहुतः केतुमध्ये आगच्छन्ति यदा ग्रहा:।
कालसर्पस्तु योगोयं कथितम पूर्वसुरभि:।।
अर्थात – यदि किसी व्यक्ति के जन्मकाल के समय समस्त ग्रह राहु तथा केतु के मध्य आ जाते हैं तो कालसर्प योग का निर्माण होता है। इस योग को सर्वाधिक अशुभ योगों में से एक माना जाता है। जिनकी कुंडली में यह योग बनता है, उनके जीवन में काफी उतार-चढ़ाव और संघर्ष आता है। इस योग से पीड़ित जातकों के जीवन में कष्टों का आधिक्य, रोग, संघर्ष, संतानहीनता, धन की कमी, असफलता आदि अशुभ प्रभाव इस योग के फलस्वरूप देखने में आते हैं। लेकिन यदि कुंडली में कालसर्प योग के अतिरिक्त सकारात्मक ग्रह अधिक हों तो व्यक्ति उच्च पदाधिकारी भी बनता है लेकिन परिश्रम और संघर्ष के बाद। और यदि नकारात्मक ग्रह अधिक प्रभावशाली हों तो जीवन अत्यंत कठिन और संघर्षमय बन जाता है।
कालसर्प दोष के कितने प्रकार होते हैं?
कालसर्प दोष 288 प्रकार के होते हैं। क्योंकि 12 राशियों में 12 प्रकार के कालसर्प दोष (12×12=144) तथा 12 लग्नों में 12 प्रकार के कालसर्प दोष (12×12=144)। दोनों का कुल योग अर्थात 288 प्रकार के कालसर्प दोष हुए।
उपर्युक्त 288 प्रकार के कालसर्प दोषों में भी 12 प्रमुख प्रकार के दोष इस प्रकार से हैं।
01. अनन्त कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के प्रथम भाव में राहु हों और सप्तम भाव में केतु हों तब इस योग का निर्माण होता है। इस योग से प्रभावित होने वाले जातक को शारीरिक और मानसिक परेशानी उठानी पड़ती है। कभी-कभी सरकारी और अदालती मामलों में भी फंसना पड़ता है। इस योग की सकारात्मक बात यह है कि इस योग वाला जातक साहसी, निडर, स्वाभिमानी और स्वतंत्र विचारों वाला होता है।
02. कुलिक कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के दूसरे भाव में राहु हों और आठवें भाव में केतु हों तब कुलिक नाम का कालसर्प दोष का निर्माण होता है। इस योग से पीड़ित व्यक्ति को आर्थिक कष्ट भोगना पड़ता है। उसकी पारिवारिक स्थिति कलहपूर्ण और संघर्षपूर्ण होती है। सामाजिक तौर पर भी जातक की स्थिति इतनी अच्छी नही रहती है।
03. वासुकि कालसर्प दोष
जब तीसरे भाव में राहु हों और नवम भाव में केतु हों तब वासुकि नामक कालसर्प दोष बनता है। इस योग में पीड़ित व्यक्ति के जीवन में लगातार संघर्ष बना रहता है। प्रायः भाई बहनों से सम्बंध खराब रहते हैं और यात्राओं में भी कष्ट उठाना पड़ता है। नौकरी व्यवसाय में भी परेशानी बनी रहती है।
04. शंखपाल कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के चतुर्थ भाव में राहु हों और दशम भाव में केतु हों तब यह शंखपाल नाम का योग बनता है। इस दोष से पीड़ित होने पर व्यक्ति को घर के सुखों में कमी होती है। व्यक्ति को आर्थिक तंगी होना, मानसिक तनाव रहना, माता के सुखों में कमी रहना तथा जमीन-जायदाद आदि मामलों में कष्ट भोगना पड़ता है।
05. पदम् कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के पंचम भाव में राहु हों और एकादश भाव में केतु हों तब यह कालसर्प दोष बनता है। प्रायः इस दोष में जातक को अपयश, लाभों में कमी, शिक्षा में बाधा और सन्तान सुखों में कमी आदि की समस्या बनी रहती है। अक्सर वृद्धावस्था में सन्यास की ओर प्रवित्त होना भी इस योग के प्रभाव से देखा जा सकता है।
06. महापद्म कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के छठे भाव में राहु हों और द्वादश भाव में केतु हों तब इस योग का निर्माण होता है। इस योग के कारण व्यक्ति को मामा की तरफ से कष्ट, रोग और ऋण से परेशानी, निराशा के कारण दुर्व्यसनों का शिकार हो जाना आदि समस्याएं होतीं हैं। इन्हें काफी समय तक शारीरिक कष्ट भोगना पड़ता है।
07. तक्षक कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के सप्तम भाव में राहु हों और प्रथम भाव में केतु हों तो तक्षक नाम का दोष उतपन्न होता है। इस योग में वैवाहिक जीवन उथल-पुथल भरा होता है। कारोबार, व्यवसाय में साझेदारी लाभप्रद नहीं होती और यह मानसिक परेशानी देती है। ऐसे जातकों का प्रेम जीवन प्रायः असफल ही रहता है।
08. कर्कोटक कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के आठवें भाव में राहु हों और दूसरे भाव में केतु हों तो इस प्रकार का योग बन जाता है। इस योग में व्यक्ति को कुटुंब सम्बंधित अनेक परेशानी उठानी पड़ती है। ऐसे कुंडली वाले लोगों का धन स्थिर नहीं रह पाता और गलत कार्यों में धन खर्च होता है।
09. शंखचूड़ कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के नवम भाव में राहु हों और तृतीय भाव में केतु हों तब इस दोष का निर्माण होता है। इस योग से प्रभावित व्यक्ति को भाग्य का साथ कम मिलता है। उसे सुखों की प्राप्ति काफी कम होती है। इन्हें पिता से प्राप्त सुखों में भी बाधा आती है तथा इनकी धार्मिक प्रवृत्ति कम होती है।
10. घातक कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के दशम भाव में राहु हों और चतुर्थ भाव में केतु हों तो यह घातक नामक कालसर्प दोष बनता है। प्रायः कहा जाता है कि व्यक्ति अपने पूर्व जन्म का कोई श्राप भोग रहा होता है। इस योग से परिवार और रोजगार में लगातार परेशानी बनी रहती है और व्यक्ति का मानसिक स्वास्थ्य भी प्रभावित बना रहता है।
11. विषधर कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के एकादश भाव में राहु हों और पंचम भाव में केतु हों तब इस योग का निर्माण होता है। इस योग से प्रभावित व्यक्ति को सन्तान सम्बन्धी कष्ट बना रहता है। इनकी स्मरणशक्ति अच्छी नहीं होती और विवेक की भी कमी रहती है। शिक्षा में रुकावट, मान सम्मान में कमी इस योग के प्रमुख लक्षण हैं।
12. शेषनाग कालसर्प दोष
जब कुंडली के द्वादश भाव में राहु हों और छठे भाव में केतु उपस्थित हों तो इस दोष का निर्माण होता है। इस योग में व्यक्ति के कई गुप्त शत्रु रहते हैं और उसके खिलाफ षड्यंत्र रचते रहते हैं। मुकदमें, जेलयात्रा, सरकारी दंड, अनर्गल खर्चे, मानसिक अशांति और बदनामी भी इस योग में झेलनी पड़ सकती है। लेकिन अक्सर ऐसे जातकों को मृत्यु के बाद ख्याति मिलती है।
इस प्रकार से देखा जाए तो कालसर्प दोष व्यक्ति के जीवन में भाग्य को बाधित कर देते हैं, जिसके कारण जातक के जीवन में इस जन्म के तथा पूर्व जन्म में किये गए पाप कर्मों का प्रभाव बढ़ जाता है। अतः प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को कालसर्प दोष निवारण साधना, मन्त्र जाप, अनुष्ठान, तर्पण, दान और पितृ मुक्ति क्रिया अवश्य करानी चाहिए।

What is the meaning of Kaal Sarp Dosh in Kundali?
Kaal Sarp is made up of two words, Kaal and Sarp. Kaal means Rahu and Sarp means Ketu.
It is said in our scriptures that-
“Rahut Ketu madhye aagchanti yada graha.
Kaalsarpastu yogayam chhattam purvasurbhi.
Meaning – If at the time of birth of a person all the planets come between Rahu and Ketu then Kaalsarpa Yog is formed. This Yog is considered to be one of the most inauspicious Yog. Those in whose kundali this Yog is formed, their life faces a lot of ups and downs and struggle. The inauspicious effects of this Yog are seen in the lives of the people suffering from this Yog like excess of sufferings, diseases, struggles, childlessness, lack of money, failure etc. But if there are more positive planets in the kundali apart from Kaalsarpa Yog then the person also becomes a high official but after hard work and struggle. And if the negative planets are more influential then life becomes extremely difficult and full of struggle.
How many types of Kalsarp Dosh are there?
There are 288 types of Kalsarp Dosh. Because there are 12 types of Kalsarp Dosh in 12 zodiac signs (12×12=144) and 12 types of Kalsarp Dosh in 12 ascendants (12×12=144). The total of both means 288 types of Kalsarp Dosh.
Among the above 288 types of Kalsarp Dosh, the 12 main types of dosh are as follows.
01. Anant Kalsarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the first house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the seventh house, then this yoga is formed. The person affected by this yoga has to face physical and mental problems. Sometimes he has to get stuck in government and court cases also. The positive thing about this yoga is that the person with this yoga is courageous, fearless, self-respecting and has independent thoughts.
02. Kulik Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the second house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the eighth house, then a Kaal Sarp Dosh named Kulik is formed. The person suffering from this Yog has to suffer financial difficulties. His family situation is quarrelsome and full of conflict. Socially also the person’s condition is not so good.
03. Vasuki Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the third house and Ketu is in the ninth house, then a Kaal Sarp Dosh named Vasuki is formed. In this Yog, there is constant struggle in the life of the affected person. Usually, relations with siblings are bad and one has to face troubles in travels. There are also problems in job and business.
04. Shankhpal Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the fourth house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the tenth house, then this Yog named Shankhpal is formed. When a person is suffering from this Dosh, there is a decrease in the happiness of the house. The person has to face financial crisis, mental stress, lack of happiness from the mother and has to suffer in matters related to land and property etc.
05. Padma Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the fifth house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the eleventh house, then this Kaal Sarp Dosh is formed. Usually, the native of this dosha faces problems like infamy, reduction in profits, hindrance in education and reduction in happiness of children etc. Often, turning towards sanyaas in old age can also be seen due to the effect of this yoga.
06. Mahapadma Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the sixth house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the twelfth house, then this yoga is formed. Due to this yoga, the person has to face problems like trouble from maternal uncle’s side, disease and debt, falling prey to bad habits due to despair, etc. They have to suffer physical pain for a long time.
07. Takshak Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the seventh house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the first house, then a dosha named Takshak arises. In this yoga, married life is full of turmoil. Partnership in business is not beneficial and it causes mental troubles. The love life of such people is often unsuccessful.
08. Karkotak Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the eighth house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the second house, then this type of yoga is formed. In this yoga, the person has to face many problems related to the family. The wealth of people with such horoscope does not remain stable and the money gets spent in wrong works.
09. Shankhachud Kaal Sarp Dosh
This dosh is formed when Rahu is in the ninth house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the third house. The person affected by this yoga gets less support from luck. He gets very less pleasures. They also face obstacles in the pleasures received from their father and their religious tendency is less.
10. Ghatak Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is in the tenth house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the fourth house, then this Ghatak Kaal Sarp Dosh is formed. It is often said that the person is suffering from some curse of his previous birth. Due to this yoga, there is constant trouble in family and employment and the mental health of the person also remains affected.
11. Vishdhar Kaal Sarp Dosh
This yoga is formed when Rahu is in the eleventh house of the horoscope and Ketu is in the fifth house. The person affected by this yoga has problems related to children. Their memory power is not good and there is also lack of discretion. Obstacles in education, lack of respect are the main symptoms of this yoga.
12. Sheshnag Kaal Sarp Dosh
When Rahu is present in the 12th house of the horoscope and Ketu is present in the 6th house, then this dosh is formed. In this yoga, the person has many secret enemies and they keep plotting against him. In this yoga, one may have to face lawsuits, jail, government punishment, unnecessary expenses, mental unrest and defamation. But often such people get fame after death.
In this way, Kaal Sarp Dosh obstructs the luck in a person’s life, due to which the effect of sins done in this birth and previous birth increases in the life of the person. Therefore, every person must do Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivaran Sadhna, Mantra Jaap, Anushthan, Tarpan, Daan and Pitru Mukti Kriya.
